It is the mission of the Riverside County Department of Mental Health Substance Abuse Program to provide a coordinated network of services to address problems resulting from substance abuse and addiction throughout Riverside County. Services provided through this network include prevention services, early intervention and referral, and direct treatment. Every effort will continually be made to make all services accessible to the residents of Riverside County.

The Substance Abuse Program is comprised of a variety of accessible, high quality treatment services for alcohol and substance abuse control. This program offers a wide range of county-wide treatment, intervention, and prevention services that include assessment, group and individual counseling, orientation to 12-step programs and sobriety, maintenance through support groups, overall case management, and referral to outside services..

Individual Prevention Services

Is someone you know starting to have problems because of drugs or alcohol? Has your child gotten into trouble at school because of drugs? Does your grandmother mix her medication with alcohol?

We can help!

Riverside County Department of Mental Health – Substance Abuse Program now offers an Individual Prevention Service program. This program is designed for individuals aged 12 to senior citizens who are starting to see negative consequences of drug or alcohol use, but are not yet to the point of requiring treatment. Participants and their families meet with a Prevention Specialist to set up a plan of action. The intervention is custom designed and individualized, and there is no charge for the service.
