Jerry A. Wengerd, Director of Mental Health

The Riverside County Department of Mental Health has developed an exceptional reputation for providing services that involve the latest innovations in clinical, administrative, policy, and research issues affecting mental health.  These services extend from the Orange County line to the Arizona State line.  The Department provides effective and culturally sensitive community-based services that enable adults who are mentally disabled, adults who are older, children who are at risk of mental disability, substance abusers, and individuals who need conservatorship, to achieve their optimal level of healthy personal and social functioning. The Department provides services for individuals, significant others, families and friends.  We maintain the assurance of confidentiality conformance with ethical and professional standards.

To ensure that this commitment is shared by all employees and contractors, the Department has established a Code of Conduct entitled “Commitment to Integrity”, which each employee and contractor must adhere to as a condition of employment, or contractual arrangement, with the Riverside County Department of Mental Health.  We intend to show you our commitment to the highest quality of service, provided with honesty and integrity.  We expect everyone to demonstrate integrity, honesty, and fairness throughout their professional work.

If you have any questions, or if you encounter a situation which you believe violates this code, please discuss it with a program supervisor or manager.  Other resources available are: Quality Improvement, Patient Accounts, Human Resources and the Department’s Compliance Officer.  We are committed to the values reflected in our Code of Conduct and trust in receiving your full support.

The Department's goal is to maximize services to clients and maintaining the highest level of quality.  We are committed to providing treatment with dignity, respect and courtesy at all times, while addressing the needs and goals of each individual.  It is also our goal to promote a positive image for the Riverside County Department of Mental Health through our employees and through the services provided in our community.
