QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
Quality Improvement (QI) provides oversight and review of all Mental Health Plan clinics, organizations, and clinicians providing services to our consumers. QI is comprised of two units, Inpatient and Outpatient QI.
The Inpatient QI Unit provides oversight of Riverside County consumers who are hospitalized. The process includes monitoring utilization, handling complaints, and overseeing quality improvement issues. The purpose of this program is to review appropriateness of acute mental health care services and monitor all involuntary hospitalizations (W & I §5150).
The Outpatient QI Unit provides clinical oversight of all county clinics, including contract providers. The Outpatient QI provides a mechanism for consumers and family members to file and reach resolution on complaints and grievances. Outpatient QI works to assure that all county activities maintain high standards while adhering to mandated requirements and regulations.
